Unrest in the region

For anyone adopting from Ukraine, the Russian/Georgian conflict is cause for great concern. Ukraine has long been trying to gain NATO membership and align itself with the US, Germany, France and other pro-democratic countries, for obvious reasons. Georgia has been trying to do the same, and any speculation that Russia saw this as a threat to their power has been confirmed in the past several days. This Russian-style punishment was cloaked by a claim of protecting South Ossetia. Clearly, Russia has ulterior motives, which are each day pointing towards gaining control of this small country. Could Ukraine be next?

Any move that Russia deems provocative could spell the same disaster for Ukraine and other post-Soviet Baltic countries such as Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. We pray that this conflict ends soon not only for our purposes, but for the cause of freedom and liberty in that region.
