This is Yuliya and Nadia! According to Kathy, Yuliya is convinced that Nadia is also coming to America to be part of our family. After all (and I quote), she is "Yuliya's best friend and needs a family too!" In the care package we sent Yuliya, we put 2 Bratz dolls (It took a lot of shopping to find 2 G-rated Bratz dolls). Nadia was the lucky recipient of the second one. When Kathy came back the next day, these 2 were high up in a tree, away from the other kids, playing with their dolls.
These are Yuliya's other friends. The girl on the left is Inna, who the Maxfields hosted last year. We've been told that when Americans are there taking pictures, other kids love to get in on the photo in hopes that someone in America will see them and come for them too. This picture kind of reminds me of a scene out of the old 1982 film "Annie".
