Our first attempt to call

Our wonderful facilitator found a valid phone number for the orphanage that finally worked. We invited one of our neighbors who served a mission in Ukraine over last night and we tried to call several times. Finally, we got through to the social worker who told us that Yuliya was in school and to call back in an hour. We sat around for an hour and tried to call again at approx. 12:45 AM. (yawn). The second call got us no further than the first. Rather than risk it, we'll call back again on Friday night, which is Saturday morning. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Note: If anyone reading this knows ANYONE that speaks Ukrainian or Russian that would be willing to help us communicate/translate with Yuliya either via phone or letters, please let us know. (andreas.utah @ gmail . com)

P. S. Eliza was kind of bummed that we don't have a picture of her and 'her sister' on ths blog. One of the reasons that convinced us to proceed with the adoption was the way that Eliza and Yuliya hit it off. They were so good with each other and had so much fun. Yuliya is such a girl girl, through and through. Eliza really enjoyed this and watched her intently, having never has an experience like this. Bringing Yuliya here would be the best thing for each other. They both LOVE Disney princesses (Eliza=Cinderella, Yuliya=Sleeping Beauty), pink & purple, and Maggie Moo's ice cream.
