We miss you!

I changed the backgound to PINK today. Since this page is dedicated to Yuliya, and since she loved nothing more than PINK everything (pink shirts, pink socks, pink cap, pink coat, pink hair clips, etc.), it is only appropriate.

Our hearts have been heavy all week. We miss that little angel so much. Even though she was with us all of 3 weeks, it was like she became one of our family.

I realize that I have not put up a good picture of Yuliya. Here is a picture of her . You can see why her nickname is Angel. This was on Halloween. And trick or treating was interesting. I think we hit every home this side of the Mississippi! Having my 8-yr old son with us, fueling himself with gobs of candy as we went did not help. And of course, this novelty of trick or treat was new and very exciting for Yuliya. 'Trick or treat' is not an easy phrase for Ukrainians. If you want a good chuckle, try to teach one how to say it. Along those same line, she would call Carrie 'mommy', but I was not daddy. By the end, we figured out it was because she could not say it. Another english lesson, and she had it down pretty good.

We are hoping that because she is 10-yrs old, there will not be a problem adopting her. According to statistics, 50% of all adopted children from Ukraine are under 5. Anytime you go over 10, chances are that they will be there for a long while, possible until 16.
