(Sorry for the long delay...I had some issues with my blog where 'off-color' graphics appeared on my page. I tracked down the culprit took care of the issue. If any of you saw - I am sorry!)
We're still in 'wait and see' mode. As of yesterday, we are hopefully a bit closer. The Benson's got their date for June. So in faith, Ellie submitted us on Monday, hoping that our travel date is assigned on availability. This just adds to the already over-flowing anticipation.
We are very excited that we'll be able to see the Kellers and hopefully a few of you others come home from the airport with your 'new arrivals' before we go. We were able to see some of these arrivals last fall, and these are truly special experiences.
It was great to see so many friends at the lunch on Tuesday and Thursday. (Carrie was sad that she was sub-teaching those days, so I spent a good while updating her on anything I learned.) Various people from '06, '07 and '08 showed up, and as always, I learned so much from all of you. While at the Tuesday lunch, I got to sit next to Cherrisse and Kurt. We had a good talk. That is a great family and her 2 new kids are so fortunate to be with them. They are going back again for #3 later this year and it was great to hear all about that. Then at Thursday's lunch, I got to sit by Nannette, Jen and her kids, and the Straders. It was good to get caught up with all of them. (The Straders are waiting for a date too). The only thing I regret about these lunches is that I am not able to chat with everyone. There are so many wonderful families that are adopting, each one being so different in their own situation and circumstance. But the one common thread that ties these amazing families together is the Christ-like love in their hearts and their faith to do this. Each family has a unique story to tell about how it was to get to this point and what is will be like going forward. Each family's adoption story is a book full of little miracles.

I'm glad you like lunches too. It's inspirational to hang out with these people isn't it? You and Carrie are an inspiration to me!

Your family is amazing. I am just beginning to feel what it has been like for you the past year and a half. It is looking more and more like we will be waiting just as long and it kills me. Thanks for being such a great example of perseverance and we know we will make it there just as you have!
