When we met Yuliya...and the 2008 group of kids

Here are 2 clips that I pulled off the camcorder. (I'm glad I did because now I now know that ripping a DVD into a format that can be uploaded to Blogger, or even onto the computer, is a huge pain! I'll have to find a simpler solution when we go to Ukraine.)

The first clip brings back some special memories. It was was Thursday, October 18, 2007 - the day we first met Yuliya. All of these kids, including Yuliya, look so tired. Despite that, Yuliya was still able to give us a sweet smile as soon as she saw Carrie. We bought her a pink jacket and cap when she was here, and we never saw the cap and coat she's wearing again until she stuffed it into her suitcase when she went back.

This is a video of the 2008 group of kids getting here. I only caught the kids from the Dnipro group, since that is the group Sasha is from. They are so tired after their long trip, but look on with so much curiosity. I thought it was special how Masha takes Natia's hand at the bottom of the escalator...they are obviosly close sisters.

Oh my gosh! You guy's, that is so precious! It has brought tears to my eyes. I remember the feeling of seeing the kids for the first time, and it really brings back those intense memories. I'm so glad that you are so close to picking up your "little angel." It's been too dang long, and it is hardly fair for you to be apart anymore. You guys are great people, and Yuliya is so lucky to be a part of your family.

That was awesome footage!
I found that is is way easier to upload video off my digital camera to my blog than to get it off the camcorder. I'm only taking my digital camera to the Ukraine.
Thanks for sharing these video's!

Oh, I love it! I miss them and this makes me want to cry! I would love to get that footage, if it was easy enough for you to copy and bring to lunch. I will pay you for the copy. I am not tech savvy, so I don't know how difficult these things are. If it is hard, don't worry about it.
