Love my girl

Last night, I spent from the time I got home from work to about 11:00PM helping Yuliya study for a Utah History test. For some reason, history has been her hardest subject in school. We went over and over facts, dates, peoples, etc., and at about 8:00 PM, when I felt like she wasn't appreciating my efforts, I asked her if she understands that I am doing this for her, and not for me. Well for a few minutes it turned into a conversation about gratitude, and I should have let it go, but I kind of hammered her for a few minutes and made her feel bad. (I know, BAD dad!!) We continued to study untill 11PM, and went to bed.

This morning I woke up and ended up taking her to school early so she could study a little more. I came home and took out my cell phone to make a call. There, on my cell phone, was a picture she had taken and put as my wallpaper. It was a picture of a note she wrote in big blue letters on a piece of paper, and it simply said I ♥ you, dad!

It's moments like these make me wonder what I ever did without her in my life. I need these moments, even if they are few and far between, to offset the moment like I had last night where I should have just kept my mouth shut.

Bad Dad??!! Are you kidding me? You see, she does realize how great you are and all you do to help her - she loves you! Is that any wonder?

You only hammered for a minute?? Oh, that Alex were that lucky. I hear myself talking and think "Okay, stop now" and then I think of a different way to approach the same topic that might make more sense to him or I feel like he's just not getting my point so I repeat and ten-fifteen-twenty later I have thoroughly exhausted the topic!
You are a good Dad. Utah History is hard enough for kids raised in Utah - I know I've had three take the same class - let alone one that's been here just around 18 months!

You are an awesome dad! If you hadn't opened you mouth then you wouldn't have had a cute picture with a message!!!
